Employee Spotlight: Rebecca Kile

While a career in banking is what Rebecca Kile hoped for, she soon learned that community is a cornerstone of good banking. She took that to heart which helped her advance her career as well as become a candidate for a local professional business organization.

“As I was graduating from college, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go. I just knew I wanted something related to business or accounting,” Rebecca said. “When I took the job at First Keystone, I had no idea where it would take me or how much I would learn.”

Rebecca started her career with First Keystone Community Bank three years ago as a teller in the Mifflinville branch. She soon advanced to the position of electronic deposit clerk, which she currently holds. Her favorite part of both positions was the opportunity to learn and grow within the bank.

“I am always looking to spread my horizons and learn as much as I can in terms of banking and my interpersonal skills,” Rebecca said. “My current position is fast-paced because we are the back-up for the ATM department which serves all 19 branches. I learn something new every day.”

Rebecca also enjoys activities outside of her banking responsibilities. She is a Daisy Girl Scout leader; enjoys hiking and taking her dog on walks; and she is a member of the Berwick Business and Professional Women (BPW) where she is running for Young Careerist. She is preparing to speak at the organization’s state convention with the theme “She believed she could, so she did.”

“Being involved with the BPW has enabled me to try new things–whether it be talking with new people, giving a speech, or trying new food,” Rebecca said. “By trying new things and making myself uncomfortable, I became a lot less quiet and more confident in myself.”

Rebecca hopes that working in her new department and being more involved in the BPW will help in her personal and professional growth.

“I plan on continuing my career in banking because I enjoy my job and would like to see how much I can grow.”
