Solutions that make a difference. That may sound like a tagline to an ad but it’s how Curtis views his role as a Commercial Services Officer at First Keystone Community Bank.
For nearly five years, Curtis has been a member of the Commercial Lending team at First Keystone. Finding solutions that make a difference for local businesses is at the heart of everything he does.
“I enjoy getting to know my local business owners and investors,” Snowden said. “Seeing their hard work pay off and knowing I played a small part in that success is what makes the job so meaningful.”
Curtis’ banking career started in the late 90s as a teller at a community bank near Philadelphia. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, Curtis worked for numerous financial institutions, large and small, performing a variety of roles in branch management.
“When my plans for a miliary career ended due to a medical condition, I turned to banking as a way to continue to be part of a team that helps others meet their goals,” Snowden said. “Along the way, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration, both from Bloomsburg University.”
Snowden was drawn to First Keystone because of its commitment to strong values, traditions and community. Its reputation for valuing its employees and customers for 160 years was very important to Snowden.
“There is a genuine sense of teamwork and shared purpose,” Snowden said. “The bank’s values and traditions are reflected in how employees treat one another and our customers.”
Outside of work, Snowden focuses on family and the outdoors, relishing the peace and relaxation he receives from both.
“I enjoy spending time with my family, whether at home or on our camping trips. We love exploring the countryside, relaxing in the mountains or by a campfire, kayaking, exploring caves, and visiting historical sites across the country,” Snowden said. “So far, our adventures have taken us to 29 different states.”
Personally, Snowden enjoys the sense of freedom that comes with riding his motorcycle. Professionally, his commitment to his role at First Keystone helping customers follow their dreams is his driving force.
“It’s rewarding to be a part of an organization that truly cares about its people and the communities we serve,” Snowden said.
