Employee Spotlight: Brian Klinefelter

Family is important to Brian Klinefelter, both personally and professionally. Brian is a Vice President/Credit Department Manager at First Keystone Community Bank (FKCB) where he has worked for 20 years.

“I love the family atmosphere at FKCB,” Brian said. “I had some great mentors that were passionate about banking and now I enjoy working with our young bankers to help them progress in their careers.”

Brian began his career with FKCB in August 2005 as a part-time teller while he was finishing his undergraduate work in finance at Bloomsburg University (BU).

“My career path in banking became clear as I was finishing business school at BU,” Brian said. “I really enjoyed studying finance. Working part-time in the credit department fit well with my abilities and educational training.”

After moving to full-time credit analyst, Brian was promoted to senior credit analyst before accepting his current position in 2012. He completed his MBA at BU in 2021. He said FKCB made it easy to advance within the company.

“I chose FKCB because they provided me with a great career opportunity to continue learning and progressing,” Brian said. “I really appreciate the support from our team and the entire organization.”

Throughout his career, FKCB’s commitment to customers and the community has been the main motivation behind his work.

“I love working with our team to assist our clients in the community,” he said. “The credit department has the privilege of interacting with most of our departments here at the bank to serve our clients. I always enjoy the mix of projects that we get to work through.”

When he’s not working, Brian enjoys spending time with family and staying active.

“I’ve been blessed with an amazing wife, Charity, and three children—Anna, Elyse and James,” he said. “My family is sporty like me, so we can usually be found running, swimming, or playing tennis.”

FKCB holds a special place in Brian’s personal life, as well.

“I actually met my wife at FKCB during teller training in 2005.  I still remember our first conversation in the lobby of the main office in Berwick,” he said. “That’s why I have always felt right at home at FKCB. Everyone supports each other.  We have a really great team that truly cares about our clients and the community. Just like family.”
